When most people think of a British World War II bomber, the first aircraft that comes to mind is the Lancaster. The Vickers Wellington may not be as famous as the Lancaster, but it was there from the start.
The Wellington took part in the first RAF bombing raid of the war in September 1939. It also holds the distinction of being the only British bomber that was produced for the duration of the War.
