The Junkers JU-87 also known as the Stuka, was a German dive bomber and ground attack aircraft. The Stuka was famously fitted with "Jericho Trumpets", these were sirens mounted on the wings.
The sirens were used as psychological weapons, used to terrify troops of the impending death approaching them. The Ju-87 was already an effective dive bomber but the added sirens made it a terrifying aerial threat to many ground troops.
