The new 1/48 scale model kit of the Blackburn Buccaneer S.2C from Airfix.
It has been a long time since Airfix made a 1/48 scale model kit of this classic aircraft. This new 1/48 scale model may have kept us all waiting but it was worth the wait.
We do sell the cheaper 1/72 scale kit but this model has all new tooling, a higher level of detail and of course is much bigger.
The Blackburn Buccaneer (also known as the Hawker Siddeley Buccaneer) entered service in the Royal Navy in 1962 but suffered with issues caused by a lack of power. This was solved by fitting the Buccaneer with more powerful Rolls Royce Spey engines, this became the Buccaneer S.2.
This is a model of the improved Rolls Royce powered S.2C used by the Royal Navy.
