If you have just found this blog I am meeting the readers of Part 1 on the other side of the red tow truck model below.
If you want to, you can click here to read Part 1 first, then come back here and join me below the red truck for the final collection of pictures. If you are joining me from Part 1, lets get to the other side of the truck and begin.
Now that we have met again at the Red Tow Truck, let's continue with some more pictures from the 2024 IPMS Scale Model Show.
So let's start with a cracking model of a Willy's Jeep Anyone who follows us on Instagram (another shameless plug there) will recognise this pic. I used it to highlight Bowfell Models hitting 1000 followers.
I still find it hard to believe that over 1000 people have checked out our pictures and my bad jokes. Anyway just look at the detail on that Jeep above then we will move on.
Like I said in the previous blog "wouldn't be a trip to Telford without seeing a Judge".
Along with some other interesting figures and busts on this stand.
From the Busts we go to Batman 2 Batmobiles and a Bat-Pod. Along with being a big Batman fan, I'm also a big fan of Babylon 5 and this show did not disappoint.
Look, it's a fighter from the Babylon 5 TV show.
I also have some pics of models from Battlestar Galactica for later. That's 3 of my favourite shows Babylon 5, Battlestar and Batman represented at this show. Just want to clear up, I don't only like shows that begin with B.
Space 1999...that begins with an S.
See, it's not all nerdy things that begin with a B in this blog. Now lets look at some big robots. These Gundam models look to cool for school. Giant robots with lasers, swords and shields? I'm in!
We don't stock Gundam robot kits or Gunpla as i've heard it called but I think I may have to look at changing that. Sorry to any fans out there if I am messing up any of these terms.
The next robot below was a big unit.
I'm not sure about building one that big but I'm going to have a go at one of these.
If you are reading this and you think it would be a good idea for us to try and stock these awesome robot kits, feel free to let us know.
We are still discussing a new line we could add to our site and my vote is giant robots with guns.
Let's do one more robot.
I don't recognise this model, I think it may be scratch built. either way it looks great.
That's enough with the robots, time to mix it up a little.
I keep saying it but I love the attention to detail people put into their builds.
Fantasy time now with the next model.
From a fantasy model we move to the moon with the next build. Some model builders like to slip a little humor into their builds. Take a closer look at this Lunar Lander model. It made me smile when I saw the aliens.
Now we move from no atmospheres of pressure to multiple atmospheres of pressure with some submarines. I should have put something to scale in this shot to show you just how small those men are. That is some intricate model work above.
Next is a model of one of the early jet fighters. The amazing looking ME 262.I think this model does this amazing looking aircraft justice. Plus the guy feeding the dog is a very nice touch.
Now if you like model tanks, this next table will keep you happy.
Lots of highly detailed model tanks at that table.
An interesting model of a Messerschmitt being repaired to finish that little collection of military models.
Time for a change of theme. Now that is a varied collection of themes on one display.
Next we have a model that was at the show last year and still impresses me just as much the 2nd time around.A really interesting choice to build and a stunning model in my opinion.
This blog is getting very long again so lets rattle through a few more pics from the show.
So many different themes and subjects for the models at this show. The quality of the models on show always blows me away.
How about a little something for you F1 fans? While you wonder around the Telford model Show, you will see so many different models on display. All of an incredibly high standard.
We keep those high standards going with the next very impressive model.
A shout out to Rubicon Models for this very impressive setup. I have to show you some more details of this model.
Everyone you meet will be more than happy to talk to you about their models and how they built them.
You also find some massive builds that you can't miss, like the following project. Set phasers to impressed and prepare to scroll down. Engage!
This massive Borg Cube model with to scale Federation Starships engaged in battle, is from 3D Print West Midlands. I think using the phaser fire as a way to attach the model starships was a great idea.
We will keep the sci-fi theme going with a few more. I did not expect to see something from "Moon". This show has surprised me every year.
Don't know what these next spacecraft are. They look very Warhammerry. Is that a word? It is now.
They look cool though. Speaking of cool, lets go with 3 very cool movie motoring icons. James Bond, Knight Rider and Back to the Future. That's my teenage years right there.
I think I should look at finishing this blog now. So as we are currently reliving my teenage nerdy obsessions above, we could finish with a proper good nerd moment.
1 of the 3 B's to end this blog/gallery.
Battlestar Galactica. Original and remake. I love them both.
A great model show filled with loads of fantastic, highly detailed models built by some wonderful people. "So say we all"
I hope you enjoyed this collection of pictures from the show. I also hope my ramblings didn't get in the way of you enjoying just a small selection of what was on show.
Feel free to comment especially if you recognise your work. I always forget to make a note of who made what. So I will be more than happy to update this blog and give you credit.
I'm off now as I've been inspired to give model building a go myself. I have a little project I am going to try on my own without any help from our model builder.
I may blog about it or you can follow us on Instagram as I attempt a build of my own.
