The Panzerkampfwagen IV, commonly known as the Panzer IV, was a German medium tank developed in the late 1930's and used extensively during the Second World War. The Panzer IV was the most numerous German tank and the 2nd most numerous armoured fighting vehicle of the Second World War, with over 8500 made.

Through the war the Panzer IV saw service in all combat theatres involving Germany, and was the only German tank to remain in production throughout the war. The Ausf.H version was made from 1943 to 1944.
